Relationship Manager, Business Banking – Liabilities

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Business Banking (Liabilities) will drive growth of the bank’s liability portfolio by acquiring and deepening relationships with high‑value corporate and SME clients in the UAE, particularly Dubai. The role focuses on understanding client needs, cross‑selling banking solutions and ensuring compliance with risk and credit policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new‑to‑bank (NTB) high‑value clients and expand existing relationships to grow the liability book.
• Engage clients to understand their banking requirements, cross‑sell and upsell products, and increase the bank’s wallet share.
• Negotiate pricing for GM and cash products, coordinate with internal product specialists, and ensure timely response to customer requests.
• Maintain a customer‑focused approach, conduct regular client visits, and keep clients informed of new products and services.
• Prepare and review credit applications, analyse financial statements, and ensure compliance with KYC, credit and regulatory standards.
• Monitor account performance, recognise early warning signals, and work with compliance, operational and credit risk teams to mitigate exposure.
• Collaborate with product managers and other bank areas to generate and forward sales leads for cross‑selling.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business banking or relationship management with a focus on liabilities.
• Strong analytical ability to assess financial statements and credit risk.
• Excellent communication skills to build rapport with senior client stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and participation in training programmes.
• Ability to work collaboratively across compliance, risk and product teams.
