Research Assistant - Language, Mind and Brain Lab (Kawader Path 1)

About the role

The Language, Mind and Brain Lab at NYUAD is looking for a motivated recent graduate to join as a Research Assistant. The post offers hands-on experience in psycholinguistic and/or neurolinguistic research, working closely with faculty and other research staff on ongoing projects. It is supervised by Dr. Diogo Almeida and is part of the Kawader program, a three-year national capacity-building research fellowship for Emirati graduates.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with experimental design, data collection and analysis in experiments on language processing
• Conduct literature reviews and contribute to academic manuscripts
• Take part in lab meetings, research discussions and training sessions
• Help with administrative tasks related to research projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BA) in Psychology, Linguistics or a related field; coursework in linguistic theory (syntax, semantics, phonology) preferred
• Prior research experience (undergraduate thesis, RA work or other independent projects) in psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics or adjacent fields preferred
• Interest in pursuing graduate studies (MA/PhD) in psychology, linguistics or cognitive science/neuroscience
• Statement of interest in the position, transcript of degree(s), CV and two letters of recommendation
