Resident Engineer – Civil (Overhead Transmission Line)

About the role

As a Resident Engineer – Civil you will lead the delivery of overhead transmission line (OHL) projects in Abu Dhabi, overseeing all phases from initiation through close‑out while ensuring compliance with schedule, budget and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical leader on‑site for EPC civil works, supervising contractors and managing daily OHL construction activities.
• Inspect, approve and certify civil works such as earthworks, tower foundations, access roads and drainage against drawings, method statements and ITPs.
• Review and approve civil drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and geotechnical reports.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and UAE/TAQA safety regulations, conduct site inspections and HSE audits.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, progress meetings, permits/NOCs and maintain comprehensive site documentation including RFIs and NCRs.
• Manage procurement of materials, equipment and services, and oversee verification, certification and project close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master’s preferred); Professional Engineer licence preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on overhead transmission line projects.
• Extensive knowledge of transmission line design, tower configurations, reinforced concrete foundations and geotechnical investigations.
• Proven project management abilities, strong communication skills and leadership experience.

• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD.
• Proficiency with PLS‑POLE.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
