Resident Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Resident Engineer to manage and supervise overall site activities on major infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role acts as the main technical and contractual representative of the Consultant on site, leading the supervision team and ensuring works comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and DM standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the supervision team (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, Material inspectors) and monitor contractor performance, progress, quality and compliance.
• Review and approve method statements, ITPs, shop drawings, material submittals and technical submissions; review interim quantities and progress claims.
• Monitor sewerage, stormwater, water supply, utility networks and external works, and coordinate interfaces between STP process systems and civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works.
• Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings and review IRs, MIRs, NCRs, RFIs and technical submissions.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented and oversee testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance testing of STP systems.
• Coordinate with Dubai Municipality and authorities for inspections, approvals, testing and handover, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly supervision reports.
• Identify risks, constraints and delays, coordinate utilities to protect existing infrastructure, and monitor HSE compliance.
• Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals and testing records, monitor snagging and rectification, and support completion, taking-over and handover.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of total experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 7 years as Resident Engineer on major infrastructure projects.
• Proven Dubai Municipality project experience is mandatory.
• Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure projects within the UAE.

Required skills

• Extensive experience in stormwater networks, sewerage systems, wastewater infrastructure, pumping stations, water supply networks, utility diversions, roads and associated infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of DM standards, specifications and procedures, and experience coordinating with Dubai Municipality and utility authorities.
• Preferred: PMP certification, DM Approved Resident Engineer accreditation, FIDIC contract management certification, ISO 9001 quality management training, and IOSH or NEBOSH safety certification.
