Technician - Geotechnical and Materials Testing

About the role

ACES, an engineering consultancy founded in 1983 offering site and geotechnical investigations, materials testing, quality control, surveying and environmental testing, is hiring a Technician for a full-time, on-site position in Dubai. The Technician supports engineering projects through sample collection, preparation and testing in laboratories and on project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain testing equipment and record and organise test data
• Assist engineers with site investigations, surveying activities and quality control procedures
• Follow established standards, safety protocols and project specifications
• Prepare basic technical reports and documentation
• Coordinate with team members to deliver services on time and accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support continuous improvement of testing and inspection processes

Required profile

• Diploma or technical qualification in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, materials science or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in an engineering laboratory, testing facility or construction quality control environment is an advantage
• Willingness to work in field conditions, including construction sites, and familiarity with local and international engineering standards is beneficial

Required skills

• Laboratory testing, sample handling and basic equipment operation for geotechnical, materials or environmental engineering
• Data collection, documentation and use of measurement tools or instruments for site investigations and surveying
• Understanding of safety procedures, quality control standards and industry codes
• Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, attention to detail and organisational skills
