Rooms Controller

About the role

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Rooms Controller for its Palm Jumeirah property in Dubai. This is a full-time, non-management position within Rooms & Guest Services Operations, focused on handling guest room assignments, reservations, check-ins and check-outs.

Key responsibilities

• Assign rooms according to guest requests and preferences whenever possible, and pre-register designated guests and prepare key packets.
• Organise and coordinate check-in and pre-registration for arriving groups, and set up and process all guest check-ins and check-outs.
• Review and track room and check-out change requests, confirm reservations and cancellations, and verify and adjust guest billing.
• Review out-of-order rooms daily, ensure rates match market codes and document exceptions, and identify over-commitments.
• Perform duplicate reservation checks, block rooms, run daily reports and file guest paperwork.
• Activate room keys, secure valid payment and follow up with guests to make sure their requests or problems are resolved.
• Receive, record and relay messages accurately, and answer phones with professional etiquette.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities and comply with company policies, confidentiality and quality assurance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience; no supervisory experience required.
• Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods, use computers and POS systems, and lift objects of up to 10 pounds.
