Sales Assistant - Sports Retail

About the role

GMG, a global well-being company that retails, distributes and manufactures brands across sport, food and health, is hiring a Sales Assistant for its sports retail business in Dubai. The role holder is responsible for products and services to customers, with the aim of maximising sales opportunities and providing exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Describe product features and benefits, demonstrate use and handling, and educate clients on brand quality standards and specifications
• Advise customers on the product range best suited to their needs and answer queries to help them decide
• Inform customers about warranties, features, specifications, maintenance and care
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate where necessary, keeping service to an exceptional standard
• Stay aware of new product launches, promotional events and sales, and achieve sales targets through up-selling and cross-selling
• Ensure promotions and pricing are accurate and in line with company policy, compute sale prices and discounts, and maintain sales records
• Receive and process cash, change and credit payments, generate invoices and receipts, and act accurately as a cashier
• Follow after-sales processes and repair/return policies, and adhere to loss prevention, inventory controls and standard operating procedures
• Assist with store merchandising, product placement and arrangement, and maintain high housekeeping and grooming standards

Required profile

• High school or diploma
• At least 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Product and brand knowledge
• Interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation
