Secondary Teacher of English & Literature

About the role

Safa Community School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Secondary Teacher of English and English Literature to join its highly accomplished secondary department. The role starts in January and involves teaching across the full secondary age range, including GCSE and A‑Level students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess English and English Literature lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
• Prepare students for public examinations, set and mark coursework, and record assessment outcomes.
• Use data to monitor student progress and implement timely interventions.
• Communicate regularly with parents, including writing reports and attending parent evenings.
• Maintain classroom discipline and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to policy development and curricular initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and experience teaching English/Literature at secondary level.
• Ability to teach across GCSE and A‑Level programmes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
