Senior Accountant – Finance Lead for Dubai Operations

About the role

MaktabiTech is seeking a technically strong accountant to build and own the finance function for its Dubai operations, shaping finance processes in a fast‑growing, project‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, reconciliations and IFRS‑compliant reporting for the Dubai entity.
• Manage project accounting including revenue recognition on multi‑phase contracts, WIP, cost tracking and margin analysis.
• Prepare management reports and communicate financial insights to senior leadership.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Handle UAE VAT and corporate tax compliance and coordinate with auditors and banks.
• Strengthen internal controls, processes and systems as the business scales.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, ACCA or ICAEW qualified or part‑qualified.
• 5+ years of experience, including Big 4 or equivalent audit exposure.
• Experience with consolidation, group reporting and internal controls.
• Solid grasp of UAE VAT and corporate tax.
• Clear communicator comfortable explaining finance to non‑finance colleagues.
• Curious and ownership‑driven mindset.
