Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial reporting and accounting operations for a Ministry in Dubai. The role involves end‑to‑end month‑end and year‑end close, preparation of statutory financial statements, and ensuring full compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including trial balance, P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank, inter‑company, AR, AP and fixed‑asset accounts.
• Prepare and file VAT returns, reconcile VAT ledgers and respond to Federal Tax Authority queries.
• Act as primary contact for external and internal audits, preparing schedules and supporting audit fieldwork.
• Oversee AP/AR processes, vendor payments, customer collections and ensure correct IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
• Produce monthly management reports, variance analysis and KPI dashboards for business stakeholders.
• Drive ERP system improvements and support process automation.

Required profile

• Certified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA or CMA) with proven experience closing UAE entities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE Commercial Companies Law and Federal Tax Authority requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with VAT filing and corporate tax compliance.
• Ability to work independently and ensure zero compliance gaps.
