Senior Accountant – Founding Role in UAE

About the role

We are launching a new accounting firm in the UAE built on a modern tech and automation stack. As the founding Senior Accountant you will design and deliver end‑to‑end accounting services for our first clients, working closely with our legal practice, Regulex Legal Consulting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax, payroll and monthly close processes for 5‑15 initial clients.
• Design the client onboarding playbook, chart of accounts standards and service level agreements.
• Co‑design automated workflows with the engineering team.
• Own full FTA compliance, including VAT filing, corporate tax submissions and WPS payroll.
• Establish monthly close calendar, tax calendars and reporting templates.
• Hire and mentor the first junior accountant as the practice scales.

Required profile

• 5+ years of operational accounting experience (not pure audit or advisory).
• Experience serving 10+ SME clients in parallel at an outsourced accounting firm or corporate services provider.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience in the UAE with the FTA portal, VAT, corporate tax and WPS payroll.
• Fluent Russian and working English.
• Tech‑forward mindset with a willingness to build automated solutions.

Required skills

• Zoho Books, Xero or QuickBooks with integration experience.
• FTA portal navigation and VAT compliance.
• Corporate tax compliance in the UAE.
• WPS payroll processing.
• Multi‑entity / group consolidation.
