Senior Architect – Technical Design Lead

About the role

WSP Middle East is seeking a dynamic Senior Architect to join its Technical Architecture Team within the Property & Buildings Business Unit in Sharjah. This role offers the chance to lead technical design on high‑profile, multidisciplinary projects across the Middle East, shaping innovative and sustainable built environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical development and delivery of architectural projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed design packages, drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, international codes and project‑specific requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including Structural, MEP, Landscape, Interior Design and specialist consultants.
• Support BIM implementation and technical design coordination across projects.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs and construction‑stage technical queries.
• Drive technical excellence, quality assurance and design consistency.
• Mentor junior architects and technical team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of professional architectural experience with a strong technical focus.
• Experience in a leading architecture, engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and stakeholder relationships.
• Prior Middle East project experience is highly desirable.
