Senior Charge Nurse - Administration

About the role

The Senior Charge Nurse – Administration leads the nursing team within a ward at Ghayathi Hospital, ensuring optimal bed allocation, staff skill mix, and coordination of hospital services during each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the nursing team, reporting issues to senior charge nurse/unit manager.
• Collaborate with non‑nursing departments to resolve issues affecting patient care.
• Facilitate effective patient flow by aligning bed capacity and staffing resources with patient acuity.
• Maintain quality standards of nursing documentation and conduct hospital rounds to identify problems and guide solutions.
• Communicate with internal and external healthcare providers, ensuring confidentiality and efficient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Support performance improvement, monitor quality of care, participate in accreditation, and audit compliance with documentation standards.
• Coordinate incident reporting after hours and enforce infection control policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting post‑qualification.
• At least 2 years in a Senior Charge Nurse role or 3 years as a Charge Nurse.
• Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and participate in committees or task forces.
• Commitment to professional development, maintaining a portfolio and meeting annual performance goals.
