Senior Data Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to design and build a new Data Platform for a specialist technology company in Abu Dhabi. This role will shape how data is stored, processed, governed, and accessed across complex products and on‑premise environments, including air‑gapped systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design a shared Data Platform spanning multiple products, including data lakes, warehouses, and management architecture.
• Build the architecture for operational, analytics, and AI workloads handling structured, unstructured, time‑series, geospatial, and binary data.
• Design solutions for on‑prem, air‑gapped, and low‑latency environments while setting standards for governance, security, and access control.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to align the data roadmap with broader technical initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data engineering and data architecture with the ability to make high‑level design decisions.
• Strong background in databases, distributed processing, messaging, orchestration, and data governance.
• Experience in defence, government, utilities, critical infrastructure, or other mission‑critical environments is highly valued.
