Senior Data Engineer

About the role

ADG is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join its Data and AI practice in Dubai. You will lead a team of data professionals delivering robust batch and real‑time streaming solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build scalable data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Dataproc, Cloud Composer and Dataplex.
• Lead projects from concept to production, managing timelines, quality and alignment with client strategic goals.
• Translate complex technical architectures into business value and drive continuous improvement of services and internal systems.
• Mentor junior engineers, guide technical discussions and develop proof‑of‑concepts.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of industry experience in data engineering, data architecture and enterprise software.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand client challenges and propose data‑driven solutions.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform data services (BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Dataproc, Cloud Composer, Dataplex).
• Hands‑on proficiency in Python, SQL and Apache Spark.
• Experience with open‑source big data ecosystems such as Hadoop and distributed computing.
• Familiarity with modern Generative AI technologies.
