Senior Design Engineer – Real Estate

About the role

The Senior Design Engineer will coordinate design information and produce detailed workshop drawings that support construction activities for Al‑Futtaim Construction projects. The role involves supervising junior coordinators, ensuring multidisciplinary integration, and maintaining compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review project and contract documents to identify gaps in architecture, structural, interior design and MEP drawings, raise RFIs and highlight discrepancies.
• Prepare rough drafts and scale working drawings, guiding drafting technicians to produce final shop drawings.
• Coordinate shop drawings across structural, architectural and interior design elements, working closely with the MEP team for seamless integration.
• Review and approve steel drawings, details and Bar Bending Schedules, verifying subcontract work against BOQs.
• Manage timely submission of shop drawings to consultants and follow up for approvals.
• Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring their deliverables align with project specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil and architectural engineering design.
• Proven ability to supervise junior staff and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
