Senior Engineer – Transportation Systems

About the role

The Senior Engineer will lead autonomous mobility projects that plan, trial, and optimise smart public transport systems and infrastructure across Dubai. This role coordinates technologies, trials and stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, future‑ready autonomous services aligned with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead autonomous transport initiatives in line with Dubai’s Autonomous Transportation Strategy, ensuring scope, timelines and outcomes match strategic directions.
• Develop executive and operational plans for smart public transport and enabling infrastructure, integrating AI, ML and IoT solutions.
• Prepare RFP documentation and manage procurement processes with Finance and Procurement departments.
• Oversee project governance, risk controls and reporting within RTA’s project management framework.
• Monitor implementation of autonomous mobility projects across land, air and sea vehicles, escalating deviations as needed.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end system trials, safety validation and performance reviews with technical teams and external partners.
• Produce bilingual Arabic‑English reports summarising technical, operational and performance data.
• Manage events, exhibitions and international conferences related to autonomous mobility.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading large‑scale autonomous or smart transport projects.
• Strong understanding of Dubai’s transportation policies and RTA’s strategic objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with government agencies, startups, manufacturers and regulators.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
