Senior Mortgage Specialist

About the role

Genai Labs is seeking a Senior Mortgage Specialist to manage complex mortgage applications from initial enquiry through completion and post‑completion support. The role combines deep mortgage knowledge, credit analysis, and customer‑service expertise to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant loan processing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end mortgage applications, reviewing borrower information, property details, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Assess eligibility against mortgage policies, conduct credit and affordability analysis, and prepare recommendations for underwriting.
• Coordinate with underwriters, brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal teams to obtain required information and resolve issues.
• Monitor application pipelines, ensure service‑level targets are met, and escalate high‑risk or exception cases.
• Support policy exceptions, fraud detection, KYC/AML compliance, and regulatory updates.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in mortgage lending, underwriting or loan processing.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to regulatory and documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication skills to guide customers and liaise with stakeholders.
