Senior Power Supply & Traction Power Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Senior Power Supply & Traction Power Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will contribute to continuous improvement and creativity in the design, development and commissioning of railway power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and commissioning activities for contact line or third‑rail systems, ensuring compliance with design, quality and cost constraints.
• Plan and coordinate test activities on site, perform tests, issue test reports and manage non‑conformances.
• Verify system documentation against V&V plans and support knowledge sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
• Interface with commissioning manager, signalling, trackwork and other subsystems to resolve integration issues.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of engineering and commissioning experience in railway power systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Clear criminal background check.
• Experience with contact line systems; experience with traction power or electrical systems is a plus.

• Power supply and traction power engineering.
• Commissioning, testing and verification of railway electrical systems.
• Knowledge of railway environment risks, standards and procedures.
