Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the role

Technip Energies is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. Reporting to the Head of Department, you will provide process safety expertise across the lifecycle of oil & gas, petrochemical, refining and energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute process safety engineering activities for FEED, detailed design, EPC and brownfield projects.
• Develop and review deliverables such as Hazardous Area Classification, fire‑gas mapping, QRA, safety case studies, bow‑tie analysis and ALARP demonstrations.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification and LOPA workshops and ensure compliance with ADNOC, API, IEC and ISO standards.
• Support commissioning, start‑up, shutdown and operational troubleshooting, including site audits and safety inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (Master’s in Process Safety preferred).
• 12‑15 years of experience in process safety engineering on FEED and EPC projects, preferably with ADNADOC standards.
• Strong analytical, leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Process safety software: PHAST, SAFETI, FlareSim, PIPENET, FLARENET, exSILentia.
• Methodologies: QRA, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, bow‑tie analysis, consequence modeling.
• Knowledge of IEC 61508/61511, API, NFPA, ISO and ADNOC engineering standards.
