Senior Project Engineer, E&I

About the role

Ghobash Group, through its subsidiary Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC, is looking for a Senior Project Engineer, E&I, based in Abu Dhabi. The company has been active in the oil and gas sector for almost 20 years, delivering full EPC&M services for electrical and instrumentation works, with ADNOC as a main client. The role leads and coordinates E&I engineering activities across the EPC project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review project scope, contractual requirements, technical specifications, design basis and ADNOC Offshore standards to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering disciplines, procurement, vendors, construction teams, subcontractors and commissioning teams.
• Monitor engineering deliverables, milestones and technical activities against approved schedules and contractual requirements.
• Review and coordinate deliverables such as single-line diagrams, cable schedules, instrument indexes, loop diagrams, termination and hook-up drawings and equipment layouts.
• Manage multidisciplinary interfaces, resolve technical queries, design discrepancies and engineering conflicts.
• Coordinate material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, technical approvals and procurement for E&I equipment.
• Monitor vendor documentation, manufacturing progress, inspections and material delivery schedules.
• Support construction teams and subcontractors during E&I installation at offshore facilities and onshore locations, including cable trays, pulling and termination, earthing, lighting, instrumentation, tubing and hook-up.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, loop checking, pre-commissioning and commissioning, and ensure work follows approved drawings, ITPs and international standards.
• Liaise with ADNOC Offshore, PMC/engineering consultants, vendors and subcontractors, and take part in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions and technical meetings.
• Monitor technical risks, engineering changes and non-conformances, and ensure HSE compliance and permit-to-work systems.
• Prepare technical progress reports, test records and as-built drawings, and coordinate punch-list clearance, handover and project close-out.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8-12 years of E&I engineering and execution experience in the oil and gas EPC industry.
• Mandatory: previous experience on ADNOC Offshore projects.
• Proven experience coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning interfaces.
• Experience in offshore facilities, platform projects, brownfield modifications, tie-ins or hook-up and commissioning.
• Ability to work in ADNOC offshore sites, with strong organisational, multitasking and attention-to-detail skills, and ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of ADNOC project specifications, technical approval workflows and engineering documentation.
• Good knowledge of project schedules, progress monitoring, technical risk management, quality requirements and HSE procedures.
• Excellent technical communication, coordination, reporting and problem-solving skills.
