Senior Resident Engineer - Roads Construction

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer to lead its construction supervision projects and act as the client's main point of contact on engineering matters. The role covers roads construction and is based on-site in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery (time, cost, quality) of the assigned package and supervise contractors so that works follow specifications and milestone dates.
• Manage and direct the supervision team in day-to-day inspections and resolve site issues on site.
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness and ensure contractor compliance with safety obligations.
• Present progress and package issues to the client team and negotiate scope changes with the client and key subcontractors.
• Follow up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
• Establish the project execution plan, health and safety plan, quality control plan and other documents, and set program requirements for all areas of the project.
• Plan, direct and control the technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the project and site team, assign responsibility to subordinates, and give input to performance reviews.
• Hold internal weekly meetings to review project status and action items, represent the company in client meetings, and perform engineering and construction management tasks such as reviewing technical deliverables, programmes, specifications and cost estimates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g. civil); engineering charter membership is advantageous.
• Minimum of 20 years of post-graduate experience in design and site supervision with a broad general engineering background.
• UAE experience is essential, particularly in Dubai, including expertise in existing sewerage treatment works and the design and construction of sewage treatment plants in the region.
• Dubai Municipality STP project and water treatment plant experience is ideal.
