Senior Specialist - Taxation

About the role

Deriv is looking for a Senior Specialist in Taxation to lead multi‑jurisdiction tax compliance for a fast‑growing global fintech. This individual contributor role focuses on deep technical expertise and cross‑functional influence rather than people management.

Key responsibilities

• Own direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with internal finance teams and external consultants.
• Build compliance frameworks from scratch when new jurisdictions are added.
• Manage tax accounting processes, including current tax, deferred tax, provisions, and disclosures, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Research tax implications of business activities, cross‑border transactions, and structural changes, providing defensible solutions.
• Address auditor inquiries with thorough documentation and analysis.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in multi‑jurisdiction tax compliance and accounting.
• Proven ability to design and implement tax compliance frameworks for new markets.
• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to make decisions under incomplete information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for documenting tax positions and interacting with auditors.
