Senior Strategic Adviser and Special Envoy, UAE

About the role

UNSW is seeking a UAE‑based senior leader to act as its Strategic Adviser and Special Envoy. The role supports UNSW’s international strategy by providing market intelligence, strategic advice and high‑level stakeholder engagement across government, regulatory and commercial domains.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic advice and market intelligence to inform UNSW’s decisions in the UAE.
• Engage senior stakeholders, negotiate partnerships and advance approved opportunities.
• Navigate complex government and regulatory environments, providing actionable insights.
• Collaborate closely with UNSW senior leadership, Group Ventures and external advisers.
• Report to the Pro‑Vice Chancellor, Transnational Ventures and support senior executives as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in strategic advisory, investment strategy or similar fields.
• Proven ability to work with senior government, industry and academic partners.
• UAE residency or the ability to work on‑site in the United Arab Emirates.
