Simulator Technician – Early Career Opportunity

About the role

As a Simulator Technician I at CAE, you will support the operation, maintenance and reliability of simulator equipment within our maritime training environment in Abu Dhabi. This role offers early‑career technicians and engineering graduates the chance to develop specialist skills through structured training and hands‑on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and visual system alignments on simulators and associated systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including running automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
• Record and track maintenance activities using the maintenance management system.
• Assist with simulator refurbishment, hardware modifications and pre/post‑training session checks.
• Support logistics activities such as receiving parts, repairs, testing and validation.

Required profile

• A two‑year technical degree or four‑year Bachelor’s in electronics, computers, IT, mechatronics or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant technical experience.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, read system drawings and technical schematics.
• Fluency in English and a valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Use of electronic test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and logic analysers.
• Soldering and circuit board repair.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital theory, PC/computer system architecture.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
