Site-Based Landscape Architect (Villa Community Developments)

About the role

The Site-Based Landscape Architect will oversee the implementation of landscape works on‑site for villa community developments, ensuring that construction follows approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project timelines. The role requires close coordination with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and site teams to deliver high‑end residential landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day landscape construction activities on‑site.
• Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications and project standards.
• Monitor installation of hardscape, softscape, irrigation and external works.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve on‑site issues.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Oversee implementation of planting plans and irrigation systems.
• Liaise with project managers, consultants, architects, engineers and clients.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
• Coordinate procurement of landscape materials and plant selection.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and local regulations.
• Monitor quality control procedures and address defects.
• Maintain site documentation, inspection records and reports.
• Track project progress against schedules and assist in work‑program preparation.
• Support project close‑out activities, including snagging and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture.
• Minimum 12 + years of experience in landscape architecture, supervision or consultancy within the UAE.
• Strong experience in villa developments and high‑end residential communities.
• Familiarity with crystal lagoons, swimmable lagoons, community parks and public‑realm projects.
• Proven experience on large‑scale, mixed‑use landscape projects and external works.
• Mandatory GCC/UAE consultancy experience.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of hardscape, softscape and irrigation construction methods.
• Ability to interpret landscape drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit (or similar landscape software).
• Understanding of local authority regulations and site practices.
• Good knowledge of plant species suitable for regional climates.
