Software Engineer – Data Infrastructure & Acquisition

About the role

Speechify is looking for a Software Engineer to own the data collection pipeline that fuels its AI model training. You will work in a fully remote, distributed team that builds petabyte‑scale audio datasets at low cost.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new sources of audio data and integrate them into the ingestion pipeline.
• Operate, maintain and extend the cloud‑based ingestion infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, managed with Terraform.
• Partner with AI scientists to improve cost, throughput and quality of data for next‑generation models.
• Contribute to the AI team’s dataset roadmap and align it with product goals.

Required profile

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Bash scripting in Linux environments.
• Python programming.
• Docker containerisation.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform).
• Experience with a major cloud provider, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of web crawlers and large‑scale data processing workflows.
