Solution Architect – Open Finance & Digital Banking

About the role

Join a leading UAE financial institution as a Solution Architect focused on Open Finance and Digital Banking. You will shape the end‑to‑end architecture of the Woven platform and its regulated Open Finance API ecosystem, driving large‑scale digital transformation and seamless API integration for partners and fintechs.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the solution architecture for the Woven platform and Open Finance API ecosystem.
• Design and implement scalable API architectures for regulated Open Finance APIs (CBUAE compliant) and commercial partner APIs.
• Define API platform strategy, including developer portals, partner onboarding, and monetisation.
• Lead the design of API control planes using tools such as Kong or OpenMeter.
• Produce and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Embed risk, compliance, and audit controls into delivery pipelines and ensure adherence to CBUAE regulations and security standards.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, risk, and executive teams across Retail, SME, and Corporate banking domains.
• Drive AI‑enabled architecture practices, automating design, documentation, and governance workflows.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and provide innovation‑focused recommendations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of solution architecture experience in digital banking, Open Banking/Open Finance, or regulated API platforms.
• Deep knowledge of the UAE Open Finance framework (CBUAE, FAPI 2.0, mTLS, SCA).
• Proven track record delivering enterprise‑scale API platforms in Tier‑1 banking or similarly regulated environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to engage both executive and engineering audiences.
• Ability to work independently and make strategic technical decisions.

Required skills

• Kong (or similar API gateway) and API control‑plane tools.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.
• Microservices and event‑driven architecture design.
• OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), FAPI security standards.
• Compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, BCBS 239, PDPL.
• AI/automation applied to architecture or software development lifecycle processes.
