Sous Chef - Indian Cuisine & Tandoor

About the role

Alabbar Enterprises & ANOTHER, a UAE-based retail group that owns several F&B concepts including Social House, Karak House, Angelina, Gia, Markette, Two Bistro, Caya, Parka, Krema, Carpo, Ganache Chocolatier, The Good Hood Kitchen, Klay by Karak and Kuku, is hiring a Sous Chef for its Indian cuisine and tandoor kitchen in Dubai. The position is full time and on site.

Key responsibilities

• Work according to the Head Chef's / Operations Manager's instructions and liaise with them to implement new menus, dishes and systems where applicable.
• Aid in achieving food cost, kitchen standards and overall objectives, and maintain high standards of food quality, preparation and production.
• Complete mise en place on time and assist in service under the guidance of the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
• Monitor stock movement and ordering, and be responsible for ordering for your section.
• Keep high standards of cleanliness in your section and assist with hygiene and cleanliness tasks requested by management.
• Be fully aware of health and safety regulations, hygiene controls and chemicals, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to superiors.
• Attend mandatory meetings, suggest improvements and help the Chef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie and Commis Chefs improve their skills.
• Ensure product knowledge is maintained and shared with all relevant personnel, and comply with company policies.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar field with a known F&B property or brand.
• 3-5 years of experience in the Indian and Tandoor section, including making breads and parathas.
• Relevant qualification in hospitality and F&B.
• Ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment, results focus, good English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in F&B or a passion for customer service, a positive attitude and teamwork spirit, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
