Specialist Electrical Engineer – Oil & Gas Refinery Project

About the role

Applus+ is seeking an experienced Specialist Electrical Engineer to join a major oil & gas refinery project in Ruwais, United Arab Emirates. The role is site‑based for a one‑year contract, with the possibility of extension, and focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of critical electrical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate electrical incidents and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Perform condition assessments of critical electrical assets.
• Carry out reliability and gap assessments for HV/MV/LV/EHV systems.
• Support maintenance and performance improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven expertise in electrical asset reliability, maintenance, troubleshooting and performance improvement.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience on large‑scale industrial or refinery projects is highly desirable.
