Specialist – Family Medicine

About the role

The Specialist in Family Medicine provides comprehensive medical services to diagnose and treat internal organ system diseases and injuries. The role includes outpatient consultations, follow‑up care, and participation in quality improvement initiatives within an integrated curative and preventive program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient medical consultations by appointment and provide follow‑up as needed.
• Work all scheduled shifts and monitor clinical indicators for quality assurance.
• Adhere strictly to infection control, patient safety, OSHAD, DOH, JCI and ISO regulations.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and in‑service training programs such as ACLS, BLS, CNEs, CMEs, conferences, and other requested programs.
• Maintain confidentiality, demonstrate effective interpersonal communication, and follow hospital policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Graduated from an approved medical school with one year internship and three years residency.
• Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or equivalent).
• At least five years of practice as a Specialist in Family Medicine, including three years as a licensed consultant.
• Current specialist license in country of origin and DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Excellent oral and written English; Arabic knowledge desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Continuing Medical Education (CME) participation.
• Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) training.
