Specialist Family Medicine

About the role

HealthPlus is seeking an experienced Specialist in Family Medicine to provide comprehensive, patient‑centred primary care across a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up care for acute and chronic conditions.
• Manage common primary‑care presentations including respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, endocrine, and musculoskeletal issues.
• Deliver ongoing management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidaemia.
• Conduct preventive healthcare activities: screenings, risk assessments, vaccination counselling and lifestyle guidance.
• Perform routine health checks and refer patients for further investigation or specialist care when needed.
• Develop individualized treatment and follow‑up plans based on evidence‑based practice.
• Educate patients on disease prevention, medication adherence and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Coordinate care with consultants, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with governance and patient‑safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical audit and continuous professional development activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognised institution and postgraduate qualification or board certification in Family Medicine.
• Eligibility for, or holding, the appropriate professional licence to practise as a Specialist in Family Medicine in Abu Dhabi.
• Relevant post‑specialisation clinical experience in Family Medicine or primary care.
• Strong experience managing acute presentations, chronic diseases, preventive care and routine primary‑care consultations.
• Sound clinical judgement, independent assessment ability and patient‑centred communication skills.
• Commitment to evidence‑based medicine, patient safety, clinical quality and continuity of care.
