About the role

The Specialist Physician in Neonatology provides high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within a hospital division. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Physician, the role combines clinical excellence with the mentorship of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support departmental initiatives, policies and performance‑management processes.
• Ensure continuous medical coverage and attend divisional meetings.
• Diagnose and treat neonatal patients according to best‑practice standards.
• Supervise junior staff, lead ward rounds and document clinical information accurately.
• Review investigations, modify treatment plans and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and incident reporting.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis.

Required profile

• Qualified specialist physician with expertise in neonatology.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and train junior medical staff.
