Staff Incident Manager

About the role

The Staff Incident Manager will lead end‑to‑end response for critical production incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and long‑term reliability. Working remotely within a globally distributed team, you will coordinate cross‑functional engineers, drive operational excellence, and foster a blameless post‑mortem culture.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of major incidents, from detection through resolution, and manage stakeholder communication.
• Reduce Mean Time to Detect, Engage, and Recover by improving alerting, on‑call rotations, and escalation policies.
• Maintain and evolve incident management standards, severity frameworks, runbooks, and governance processes.
• Facilitate blameless post‑mortems and ensure actionable follow‑up items are completed.
• Monitor incident trends, SLA/SLO performance, and report health metrics to engineering leadership.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in incident management, site reliability engineering, or production operations.
• Proven track record as an Incident Commander or leading major incident responses.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud‑native infrastructure.
• Experience designing incident management frameworks and on‑call programs.
