Staff Nurse – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

About the role

The Staff Nurse will work in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) on Tower B4, delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients. This role involves direct patient care, education of patients and families, and coordination of care transitions within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to identify patient diagnoses and issues.
• Develop and document individualized, culturally appropriate care plans with measurable outcomes, involving patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Implement evidence‑based interventions, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications in accordance with organisational policies.
• Continuously evaluate patient response, modify care plans as needed, and ensure accurate documentation in the health record.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care, promote cost‑effective resource use, and provide health education and promotion.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualified to practice under the Nursing Scope of Practice defined by the UAE regulatory body.
• Commitment to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for cardiac intensive care patients.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
