Staff Nurse – Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) in Ajman. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to newborns who need specialised support, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to premature, low‑birth‑weight and medically complex neonates.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications and manage feeding methods (oral, tube or IV) according to individual care plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and nursing records.
• Assist with procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, phototherapy and intravenous therapy.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, paediatricians and other health‑care professionals.
• Educate and support parents, encouraging their involvement in the infant’s care.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection‑control and patient‑safety protocols.
• Participate in continuous professional development and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a valid nursing licence.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in Neonatal, SCBU or NICU settings.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
• Strong communication, clinical decision‑making and empathy.
