Staff Nurse - Tower D5 A- HDU

About the role

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City is hiring a Staff Nurse for Tower D5 A- HDU in Abu Dhabi. The nurse coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education and transitions of care, while supporting the hospital's mission, vision and values and following the Abu Dhabi and UAE Professional Nurses Code of Conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs), interpret findings, prioritize risks and document data
• Develop individualized plans of care with patients, families and the healthcare team, using evidence-based practice and measurable outcomes
• Implement the plan of care, perform treatments and procedures, administer medications and communicate across care levels
• Teach patients and families, evaluate their understanding and revise the plan of care
• Evaluate progress, attend care rounds, update the attending physician and give clinical handovers
• Integrate evidence and research into practice and take part in performance improvement projects
• Lead by example, coordinate delegated tasks, supervise practical nurses, junior staff and student nurses, and respond to emergencies

Required profile

• At least 2 years of clinical experience after qualification in an appropriate setting
• Experience requirement waived for graduates of UAE nursing colleges or universities
