Stores Officer – Hospital Supplies Management

About the role

The Stores Officer is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of equipment, materials and supplies for all hospital departments, ensuring timely availability and compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and shipping of hospital equipment, materials and supplies.
• Manage and supervise storekeeping personnel, including training, performance evaluation and work allocation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the department’s computer system and Tally‑based inventory package.
• Conduct regular stock counts, weekly and semi‑annual inventories, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with vendors, resolve order issues, and ensure cost‑effective purchasing within budget guidelines.
• Ensure proper storage conditions, rotate supplies to prevent expiry, and maintain a clean, orderly storeroom.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) or equivalent graduate degree.
• Previous experience supervising a storeroom or leading storekeeping staff.
• Good spoken and written English; Arabic advantageous.
• Relevant training such as ISO 9000 awareness or diploma in imports and exports management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory management systems and Tally software.
• Strong computer literacy for transaction verification and reporting.
