Substation Civil Design Engineer – Power Substation Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Substation Civil Design Engineer to join our Dubai Design Hub. The role focuses on civil design of high‑voltage (HV/EHV) AIS and GIS power substations for projects across the Middle East, Africa and other international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil layouts, grading, drainage, road and pavement designs for 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV substations.
• Design foundations for transformers, AIS/GIS equipment, control and switchgear buildings, and related steel structures.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs and other design deliverables.
• Coordinate civil design interfaces with primary, secondary, electrical and MEP engineering teams.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards and client/utility requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven professional experience in civil design of HV/EHV power substations, including hands‑on work with AIS and/or GIS substations.
• Strong knowledge of substation civil layout, site grading, road and pavement design, drainage, underground utilities and transformer foundations.
• Ability to independently prepare and review civil engineering drawings and design deliverables.
