Superintendent, Construction – Mechanical (Shutdown)

About the role

The Superintendent, Construction – Mechanical (Shutdown) will manage mechanical, piping and equipment overhaul activities during planned plant turnarounds, shutdowns or outages in the oil and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site construction teams, contractors and subcontractors through tight shutdown and turnaround schedules.
• Supervise rotating machinery, static equipment, process piping and HVAC overhauls.
• Enforce strict HSE standards, permit‑to‑work protocols and quality control compliance.
• Coordinate inspection walkdowns, pressure testing, pre‑commissioning and punch‑list closures.
• Resolve technical queries and interface with client engineering and vendor teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15‑20+ years of oil and gas experience with focus on mechanical and piping construction, maintenance and major turnarounds.
• Mandatory experience on ADNOC projects and familiarity with regional compliance such as CICPA passes.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of international codes: ASME B31.3, API 650, ASME Section IX.
• Experience with gas processing/compression projects.
