Survey Engineer

About the role

Oceaneering International is seeking a Survey Engineer to support offshore marine construction projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves operating and calibrating advanced hydrographic survey equipment, managing navigation software, and ensuring data quality while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist colleagues in safe work procedures and conduct daily Job Safety Analyses.
• Calibrate heading, attitude, and bathymetric sensors and configure navigation software for correct projection/geodetic datum.
• Run online survey/inspection spreads, set up vessel and ROV navigation displays, and log project data.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues, prepare survey reports, and maintain equipment safety.
• Follow client and project manager instructions, report unsafe conditions, and comply with company safety rules.

Required profile

• Degree in Survey, Geomatics, Hydrography or equivalent.
• Offshore marine construction experience.
• Familiarity with DGPS (C‑Nav, Hemisphere) and multibeam survey systems.
• Understanding of calibration procedures, data management, and reporting requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in a demanding offshore environment.
