Sustaining Engineer I - PLM (Busbar)

About the role

Vertiv is looking for a Sustaining Engineer I PLM in Dubai to own and maintain the Busbar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, keeping designs accurate, controlled and production-ready across the full product lifecycle. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order product, so each customer order is specifically engineered, which adds complexity and variation. The role responds quickly to design-related production issues and drives Design for Manufacturability improvements to support safety, quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Busbar design Product Lifecycle Management
• Identify and coordinate cross-functionally Design for Manufacturability improvements (safety, quality and efficiency)
• Provide design support for issues found during production and for supply chain constraints
• Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
• Ensure the quality of ETO designs before release to production

Required profile

• 1-3+ years of experience in product design
• 1-3+ years of experience in sheet metal and copper design
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Time travel required 10%

Required skills

• 3D modeling and 2D drafting
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
