Teacher of Science – August

About the role

GEMS Al Barsha National School is looking for enthusiastic Science Teachers, specialised in Chemistry or Physics, to join the team in August 2026. The role involves delivering the National Curriculum for England while embedding UAE national values, identity and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in your Science specialism (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) for students of varying abilities.
• Use experimental, inquiry‑based learning to foster scientific curiosity and literacy.
• Assess, record and report student progress, using data to inform differentiation.
• Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Collaborate with the Science Department to develop innovative schemes of work and share best practice.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student achievement.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development and co‑curricular activities.
• Uphold GEMS Education’s core values and contribute to school events and science enrichment programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field with a specialism in Chemistry or Physics.
• Recognised teaching qualification/licence (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Minimum two years of teaching experience.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to inspire students.
• Commitment to fostering academic excellence and lifelong interest in science.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ICT and digital tools.
