Team Member – Waste Management

About the role

The Team Member will lead a team of General Assistants in waste collection, sorting and transportation, ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene and environmental standards at Emirates Flight Catering.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and deploy General Assistants to designated areas for effective waste collection.
• Monitor, supervise and participate directly in collection, sorting and transportation of waste materials.
• Maintain equipment safety, monitor performance and prevent failures.
• Support sorting, storage and handover of recovered materials to recycling contractors with accurate documentation.
• Uphold hygiene, safety and environmental compliance across all collection areas.
• Organise team workload, adhere to roster schedules and coordinate manpower.
• Oversee daily operations, monitor staff and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001:2015 environmental standards.

Required profile

• Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a catering/food production unit, preferably airline industry.
• Basic written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Good communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of counting and weights.
