Wellness Coach – Group Fitness & Wellness Services

About the role

The Wellness Coach supports AUS’s commitment to a healthy, inclusive, and engaged university community. Working the evening shift, you will lead group fitness classes, provide individual wellness coaching, and manage the Wellness Center to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for faculty and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver inclusive group fitness classes for all skill levels, offering modifications as needed.
• Provide personalized wellness coaching and evidence‑based health education on stress management, recovery, and work‑life balance.
• Maintain accurate program records, attendance logs, coaching notes, and reporting metrics.
• Develop and execute an academic‑year engagement strategy, including workshops, health campaigns, and university‑wide initiatives.
• Identify participation barriers and recommend culturally responsive programming.
• Oversee Wellness Center operations during the evening shift, including opening/closing procedures, facility walk‑throughs, and equipment maintenance reporting.
• Serve as first point of contact for service inquiries, incident management, first‑aid emergencies, and conflict resolution, maintaining detailed shift logs and liaising with security and emergency services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience delivering group fitness classes, individual wellness coaching, and overseeing a recreation facility, preferably in higher education.
