Admin Nursing Supervisor

About the role

The Admin Nursing Supervisor oversees manpower and resources to ensure the highest standards of nursing care and patient safety at American Hospital Dubai. This role combines administrative leadership with clinical oversight, acting as a key liaison between nursing staff, patients, and hospital management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing manpower plans based on patient census, acuity, and safety requirements.
• Manage internal, inbound, outbound, and international patient transfers, including all related documentation.
• Respond to emergency codes (e.g., code red, code blue, code green) and record them for quality measures.
• Serve as acting Hospital Administrator when required and act as resource person in the manager’s absence.
• Participate in departmental goal setting, policy formulation, and hospital-wide committees.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and security policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (minimum 3‑year program) or equivalent degree with registration as a Registered Nurse in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
• Minimum five years of recent inpatient nursing experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Valid nursing license/registration in the home country or last place of employment.
• Mandatory certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and, during probation, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
• Knowledge of DHA policies and frameworks, advanced communication, coordination, and escalation skills.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Proficiency in infection control, pain management, wound care, and controlled drug handling.
• Conflict management and escalation capabilities.
