Consultant Child Psychiatrist – Private Healthcare Facility

About the role

A leading healthcare group in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain is seeking an experienced Consultant Child Psychiatrist to join its specialist mental health team, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up care for children and adolescents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up for children and adolescents.
• Assess and manage a wide range of psychiatric and behavioural conditions.
• Develop individualised treatment plans and deliver pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, schools, psychologists, therapists, paediatricians and other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage complex mental health cases.
• Provide counselling, psycho‑education and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, quality improvement and teaching activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognised institution and postgraduate qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent.
• Consultant‑level experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, managing a broad range of psychiatric and behavioural conditions.
• Western qualifications or internationally recognised board certification preferred.
• Eligibility for DOH (Abu Dhabi) licensing/registration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to patient‑centred care and clinical excellence.
