About the role
The Arabic Translator provides accurate, professional, and culturally appropriate translation services between Arabic and English for a wide range of official documents and communications within the Department of Municipality & Transportation.
Key responsibilities
- Translate official correspondence, reports, contracts, policies, technical specifications, presentations and public communications in both directions.
- Maintain consistency of terminology and language usage across all translated materials.
- Proofread and edit translations for grammar, syntax, formatting and compliance with organizational standards.
- Develop and update technical terminology databases and glossaries.
- Provide language support to internal departments, project teams and stakeholder meetings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Arabic or English; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3‑5 years of professional Arabic‑English translation experience, preferably in government, municipal or technical sectors.
- Proven experience in editing, proofreading and quality assurance of translations.
