Assistant Manager – Restaurant

About the role

As Assistant Manager at CuiScene Restaurant, you will help deliver exceptional, personalized dining experiences that reflect Fairmont’s Heartist philosophy. You will support the Restaurant Manager in daily operations, ensuring smooth service across breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets while maintaining high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, anticipate needs and address feedback promptly.
• Assist the Restaurant Manager with opening and closing procedures, ensuring readiness, cleanliness and proper service setup.
• Monitor buffet presentation, food replenishment, hygiene standards and guest flow.
• Coordinate with the Culinary team for timely replenishment and quality presentation of buffet items.
• Supervise, coach and motivate restaurant colleagues; conduct daily briefings and allocate duties according to business levels.
• Support training, development and performance management of team members.
• Help achieve financial goals by monitoring supplies, inventory, minimizing waste and handling billing, cash and POS operations.
• Assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring and other administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to engage guests and resolve issues.
• Leadership skills to coach, motivate and develop team members.
• Good understanding of inventory control, cost management and waste reduction.
• Ability to work effectively with culinary and front‑of‑house teams.
