Assistant Pastry Chef – Dubai

About the role

Join Marriott International’s vibrant culinary team in Dubai Marina as an Assistant Pastry Chef. You will work side‑by‑side with the Pastry Chef to produce a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts that meet the brand’s high quality and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare doughs, fillings, proof, bake, and decorate breads and pastries according to daily production sheets.
• Follow recipes, quality checklists, and food‑safety procedures while maintaining kitchen logs.
• Monitor appliance temperatures, report any issues, and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
• Assist the Pastry Chef with inventory control, daily specials planning, and kitchen organization.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching junior kitchen staff.
• Uphold safety, security, and uniform policies, and report any incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of hands‑on experience in a bakery or pastry environment.
• Technical, trade or vocational school education in culinary arts or a related field.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for long periods, and moving on uneven surfaces.
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
